What is a Vasectomy?
A vasectomy is a form of male birth control that cuts the supply of sperm to your semen. It’s performed by cutting and sealing the tubes that carry sperm.
A vasectomy is a quick office procedure that prevents men from having children. The procedure uses 3 techniques to prevent the passage of sperm through the vas deferens. First, a segment of the vas deferens is removed, then the ends are cauterized and a layer of tissue is placed between the two ends to prevent recannulatization.
Vasectomies are highly successful but do require some time before the procedure is considered final.
By having a vasectomy you will no longer need to worry about condoms or birth controls to prevent pregnancies. No more birth control side effects for women, no need to tubal ligations surgeries or IUDs

Recent Testimonials
My wife and I have always wanted to have two kids, and back in March, we had our second child. I’m 35-years old, and my wife is 32-years old, and as much as we both love having kids and family, we knew that 2 kids was the “sweet spot” for where we want to be in life. It was the perfect time to move forward with a vasectomy, especially now that we have both a son and a daughter.
I was referred to Dr. Modh and am so glad I found him. He walked me through the process and answered all of my questions during our first consult. By the time I was finished talking with him, I went from being 90% certain I wanted a vasectomy to 100% certain.
Two weeks later I scheduled my vasectomy and the process was very quick and seamless. I was expecting the pain to be a 6/10, and it was more like a 2/10. I arrived at his office at noon and was back working at my office at 1pm that day. The entire process took about 30 minutes and I healed and recovered quickly. I had very very little discomfort the next few days, post-surgery and was only made aware of the fact that I had just had a vasectomy, when my 3-year old son was jumping and climbing on me.
Before I spoke with Dr. Modh, I thought a vasectomy was a huge process and surgery. In reality, it ended up being more equivalent to an outpatient surgery for mole removal or skin treatment. I’ve felt more pain getting a cavity worked on at a dentist than my vasectomy. It was all-around a fantastic experience and not anything like what I had envisioned in my head.
If you are reading this review, you are obviously thinking about getting a vasectomy. Schedule a consult with Dr. Modh and he will answer all of your questions and ease any concerns you may have as he did for me.
A vasectomy was one of the best and easiest decisions I’ve ever made and I’m so glad I found Dr. Modh and Vasectomy Florida.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
What type of Anesthesia are available?
All patients receive local anesthesia. Patients can be prescribed Pain medication or Valium to take prior to the procedure. Nitrous Oxide(laughing gas) can also be offered for an extra $100 charge. Finally, Dr. Modh does work at hospitals and surgery centers where the procedure can be performed under general anesthesia.
Can I drive myself?

Can I eat the day of my vasectomy?
Yes, eat according to your usual schedule unless you are having the procedure at a hospital or surgery center with general anesthesia.
Is a vasectomy reversible?
A vasectomy can be reserved but it can be costly and success rates are not 100%. If you are worried about reversal a vasectomy may not be right for you!
Does it work right away?
No you must continue to use contraception until you have completed a semen analysis test that shows no sperm. We recommend waiting 3-4 months and ejaculating 25 times prior to testing.
Can my wife watch?
We typically prefer partners to stay in the waiting room. We do not want observers to pass out.
Can I record my procedure?
We do not allow camera or video recording of the procedure.
When can I have sex?
We recommend waiting 5 days and until the pain has resolved prior to resuming intercourse.
When can I go back to work?
Typical 1-2 days off of work is adequate. For jobs that require heavy lifting or physical exercise up to a week of limitation may be needed.
Do I really need frozen peas?
Ice packs, frozen vegetable,s and Anti-inflamatories(Advil/Motrin/alleve) are very useful in helping prevent pain in the first 24 hours but are not needed for all patients.
